I went to see Liz at Vogue because I got a good vibe from the salon’s website and it was time for another change of image. Not being shy when it comes to changing my hair, I agreed to be Liz’s model for a colouring competition and next thing you know I’m seeing myself on a full-page glossy magazine advert for Vogue! Not bad at 37 and my mum loves showing it around!

Salons can be intimidating places but although there is a high end feel to Vogue, you are made to feel very comfortable by all of the staff and the surroundings are stylish but bright and pleasant. There is a genuine wish among the staff to delight the customer and to be the best that they can be. It is obvious that there is a lot of support for the development of the staff and this is rewarded in the customers’ support for the salon, whether it’s sponsoring a staff member for a charity event or nominating the salon for a hairdressing-related award. There really is something different on offer at Vogue and you will know it when you walk through the door.

Well, now we know there’s a good atmosphere, what about the actual hairdressing skills? Having a tricky head of thick, coarse hair, I’m not the easiest to please. I was visiting my old hairdresser every 3 weeks because the shape was lost so quickly. This made it impossible to re-grow my hair (not to mention expensive), although I said every time that that was my aim. Liz has the skill to give me a cut that can last up to 2 months without hacking it all away. She also knows how to make it flatter my face shape and profile, which is equally as important as the quality of the cut and colour. It’s not easy to find a good hairdresser in a good environment, but I’m grateful the website was good enough to draw me in.
